The Beaudesert Rotary club is involved with supporting the various youth programs that Rotary offers, these include RYLA, RYTS, RYPEN, YEP and local projects.

RYLA, RYTS and RYPEN are leadership camps that are have different programs tailored to the age bracket of the youth attending. RYLA if for those aged between  19 -29 whereas RYTS youth aged 17-18, both offer a week long program thatfocuses on practical life skills, leadership skills,  teamwork, relationship building and much more. RYPEN is only a weekend camp for youth aged 14 – 16, and focuses on building healthy relationships, teamwork, identifying leadership qualities and building confidence. All three programs are a once in a life time opportunity that those who attend will never forget – for more information see  (Link)

YEP is Rotary’s Youth Exchange program, where a student from our local area will exchange with a student from overseas for a period of time, currently we have an exchange student from Peru for a year. The Students will stay with a host family from the rotary club for a few months and then move to another host family so they get a variety of experiences while on exchange. Youth exchange is a great way to become fully immersed in another countries culture, gain independence skills and have an experience of a lifetime.

Locally our club has been involved with supporting the Kokoda Youth Foundation – On the Right Track program, with a community service day. We partner with Defenders for Hope and the youth will assist in packing defenders packs (a bag of basics) for anyone who has been affected by domestic and family violence or homelessness.

If you’re interested in applying for the 2025 Rotary Youth Exchange please get in touch with us or learn more here.
